Law & Order Changes are Your Right

We Support changes to benefit our first responders such as:
- Expanded mental health services for 1st responders - Sign our petition to expand mental health services for 1st responders in New Milford SIGN THE PETITION
  - Police officers and firefighters are more likely to die by suicide than in the line of duty.
  - 85% of first responders have experienced symptoms related to mental health conditions
  - Depression and PTSD are up to 5 times more common in first responders
- Covid bonuses to 1st responders, from the American Rescue Plan money, to show them we are a grateful town for all they have been doing during COVID (this will come at no direct cost or tax increase to the New Milford residents).
- We need to do better with retaining our 1st responders and helping them with the new legislation that affects them.
We support the Town of New Milford doing better with the opioid crisis directly and not shipping our issues to other towns. We support having an overdoes safe haven in New Milford.
New Milford residents have the right to live in a town that is tough on crime, with first fully staffed, equipped and healthy.
It is time for New Milford to have the discussion about paid EMTs and Fire Departments.
